1. chat　vi.聊天；闲聊

2. convenient　adj.方便的；近便的

(2)convenience n． 方便；便利

1.  whenever引导时间状语从句

①Whenever we met with difficulties, they came to help us．

②We are determined to finish the task, whatever/no matter what happens．

2.  so...that...如此……以至于……；引导结果状语从句

(教材P28)She was so inspired by the people she met online that she decided to start an IT club to teach older people how to use computers and the Internet．

她从网上认识的人那里受到了很大的鼓舞，所以她决定成立一个IT俱乐部，教老年人如何使用电脑和互联网。

(1)本句中包含so．．．that．．．结构，意为“如此……以至于……”。该结构主要有以下几种用法：

①so＋adj．/adv．＋that从句

②so＋adj．＋a/an＋可数名词单数＋that从句

③so many/much/few/little(少)＋名词＋that从句

(2)such．．．that．．．的用法：

①such＋a/an＋adj．＋可数名词单数＋that从句

②such＋adj．＋不可数名词＋that从句

③such＋adj．＋可数名词复数＋that从句

②There are so many people in the street that the bus is going slowly．

3.“特殊疑问词＋to do”结构

(教材P28)Jan has started taking online classes to learn more about how to use the Internet to make society better．

简开始上在线课程去学习更多关于如何利用互联网使社会变得更美好的知识。

疑问副词how＋动词不定式短语，作介词about的宾语，相当于一个宾语从句。该结构可以作主语、宾语和表语。

①The experts are talking about how to solve the difficult problem．

专家们正在讨论如何解决这个难题。

②I wonder if you have decided where to spend your holiday．

我在想你们是否已经决定到哪里去度假了。
