Li Ming:It's hard sometimes to talk about the future. 

What will I be? Where will I live? I have no idea.

Wang Mei:You work very hard,Li Ming. You are also a nice boy. You will have a very good future.

Li Ming: Thank you.

Wang Mei: You are good at talking to people. You gave a good talk to the students yesterday. Maybe you'll be a teacher.

Li Ming: I hope to be a teacher. I would be nice to ❶ my students. I wouldn't give them too much homework on weekends!

be nice to ...   对……好

be nice to 相当于be good/kind to,意为“对……好”,to后一般接表示人的代词或名词。它的反义短语是be bad to,意为“对……不好”。

eg: That old woman was kind/nice/good to the children.  

那位老妇人对孩子们很好。

Harry Potter's aunt was bad to him.

哈利·波特的姨妈对他不好。

grow /rəʊ/ v.生长;成长;种植

grow是不规则动词,其过去式为grew,过去分词为grown。

eg:My grandpa grew various flowers in front of our house last spring.

去年春天我爷爷在我们的房子前种了各种各样的花。

常考词组grow up“长大;成长”

eg:Many people will change their dreams when they grow up.

许多人长大后会改变他们的梦想。

grow还可用作系动词,意为“变得,变成”,强调逐渐变化的过程。

eg:The young man was very angry, and his voice grew louder and louder.

那个年轻人很生气,声音也变得越来越大。

hope to +动词原形 希望做……

eg:Bruce hopes to make a model spaceship by himself.

布鲁斯希望自己动手做一个宇宙飞船模型。

hope 不能用于hope sb.to do sth.结构中,但可用于hope + that 从句中。

eg:We hope to see you again.=We hope we can see you again.

我们希望再次见到你。

I hope you can help me with my maths.

我希望你能帮助我学数学。

(不能说:I hope you to help me with my maths.)
