汉语中 “东南、东北、西南、西北”等用英语表达为：southeast, northeast, southwest, northwest。

a map of… “一张……地图”，介词of 表示所属关系，介词短语作后置定语，修饰名词map。

例如：a photo of my family   一张我的全家照

be north of…意为“在……的北部”。

the North 北部，北方；

in the north of 在……的北部（范围内）；

to the north of 在……的北方（范围外）；

on the north of在……的北方（两地接壤）。
