1 Helen Keller was born in 1880/ in America. She was blind. So she couldn’t see. She was deaf. So she couldn’t hear. And she couldn’t talk. Her life was very sad.

2 But she was a very clever girl and she could learn. She tried very hard. She learned to read and write. It was very, very difficult for her.

3 Helen went around the world to tell her story. She couldn’t talk. So her friends helped her.

“Blind people are normal people. We can learn and work ,too,”she said.

Helen wrote books about her life. She was famous. She helped blind people everywhere.
