This week，I got to know❷ my neighbourhood. Jenny and I walked to school on Monday. The school is about one mile from Uncle David's home. Jenny showed me her favourite places. There's a bakery near our house. 

When we walk to school，we go by the bakery. Sometimes we buy bread there. Jenny likes to buy books at the bookstore. It's on our way to school，too. Across from❸ the bookstore，there's a beautiful park. We love to play there.

Life in a new neighbourhood is not very easy. Yesterday I got lost. I was going to meet Danny at the movie theatre.Luckily，a lady showed me the way. Tomorrow I'm going to buy a map of the city because I don't want to get lost again.

使用语境：是对How are you？和How are you doing？等问候语的回答，因此不能翻译为“我做得很好。”而要翻译为“我很好。”相当于I'm fine。

get to know逐渐了解

考向【重难点】辨析 get to know和know

get to know

强调动作，指“从不认识到认识的渐进过程”。

强调状态，指“认识，了解，知道”。是延续性动词，可以和表示一段时间的状语连用。

eg：She is very nice when you get to know her.

你了解她以后就会觉得她非常好。

I have known him for 3 years.

我认识他已经有三年了。

【点拨】get to know意为“逐渐了解”；know意为“了解，知道”，是延续性动词，可以和表示一段时间的状语连用。故选B。

across from在对面；在对过

across from是介词短语，在句中可作表语、状语。

eg：The hospital is across from the shop.

医院在这个商店对面。(作表语)

There is a restaurant across from the post office.

在邮局对面有一家餐馆。(作状语)

Across from the park, we can see the trees clearly.

在公园对面，我们可以清楚地看见那些树。 (作状语)

其同义词组为opposite to “在……对面；和……相反”。
